Getting to know… Cristo Vivancos

Getting to know Cristo Vivancos

Out of the six brothers that form Los Vivancos nowadays, Cristo is the third of the older ones (or the fourth of the younger ones). In their performances he plays the EWI, an electronic and wireless wind instrument, although he can also play the saxophone, the guitar, the trumpet, or the clarinet. His speciality is violoncello, which he already played at age thirteen in the Amsterdam Youth Symphony Orchestra.

A special aspect of his personality is his simple and calm character. He doesn’t need many things to be happy and his lifestyle is very low-key, as he tries to balance cultivating his mind and body. Spiritually, he finds inspiration in books such as “El poder del ahora” by Eckhart Tolle.

As for his body, exercise is something that he could not live without. Not only because he needs it due to his profession, but also because it is good for both mental and physical health, and it has been a part of his life since he was a child. This has also conditioned his food. He doesn’t drink coffee or tea, and he avoids alcohol, sugar and salt. Seems tough, right?

If he hadn’t become a dancer, he would have liked to do sports. Specially those that he loves but hasn’t got time to practice. He admires Rafa Nadal (they are both left-handed!) although he admits he would have to practice a lot even to be a bit like him. But don’t get confused, his life is not only about exercise… sometimes he can not resist and he indulges himself… with a good italian pizza!
